R42
The R40 series bikes could all be had with either above seat steering (ASS), or under seat steering (USS). Also either short wheelbase (SWB) or long wheelbase (LWB). Later on, ATP shortened the LWB boom and called the result a medium wheelbase (MWB). The R40 and R42 used 2" wide frame tubing, while the R44 and R45 used thinner 1.75" main tubes. The R 42 and R45 included upgraded components. All of these bikes could be had with either a 16 or 20 inch front wheel.

ATP also made rear-suspension versions of the R40 series bikes which were designated as "40s", "42s", "44s", and "45s", the "s" designating rear suspension.

Diane Reed Sawyer's R42 for sale August 25, 2018, Milton, MA. Vision R42 burgundy recumbent bike, in great shape. The bike has been well maintained, and Is an easy, fun ride. Underseat steering, Suntour derailers and brakes, replaced seat with a Rans padded seat cushion, very comfortable. I took several great trips on this bike, through the Champlain Islands, and to Martha's vineyard. Bike Is In Boston area.

Mike's Vision Recumbent R42 for sale July 2019, $500, below seat steering, short wheel-base. Bike was tuned up at Farmstead Bikes in Mpls (new tires/tubes, brake pads replaced, etc.), front suspension overhauled by Freewheel Bike on the Greenway, have all the parts to overhaul the seat suspension, but I removed it as it seemed unnecessary.
